WALTER "CHIP" CHARLES, PE
Co-founder | Retired in 2020
Growing up on a farm in southern Indiana, Chip knew at a very young age that he wanted to be an engineer. He went to Rose Hulman where he graduated with honors in 1976 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. After spending much of the next 19 years with another engineering firm, Chip left there in 1995 to create CrossRoad Engineers. He established the culture of the firm, where everyone works hard, where everyone plays hard, and where you are able to become friends with the people you work with every day. He oversaw the long-term direction of the company as well as the day-to-day operations as President until becoming CEO in 2016.
Mark beck, PE

Mark grew up on a farm in northwest Ohio, went to college at Tri-State (Trine) University and began working with CrossRoad after graduation in 2000. Mark heads the Transportation Division, and works with both INDOT and LPA’s to help define their project scopes. Mark enjoys working with clients to design projects that are on time, on budget, and that everyone can be proud of.
Andrew Wolf, PE
Vice President
Andrew was born and raised in Logansport, IN and hired on full time upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2009 with a B.S in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed PE in Indiana. His love for engineering came from learning how impactful transportation is to a community. Andrew is very passionate about finding solutions to transportation problems that truly benefit the communities he works for. His primary responsibility is the design
and analysis of roundabouts, and is also responsible for CrossRoad’s computer
and network infrastructure. He now lives in Beech Grove with his wife and sons.

Trent joined CrossRoad Engineers in 1996 and became President of the company in 2016. His unique experience in survey, public and private design, construction inspection, right of way management, and utility coordination over these years has allowed him to be a hands-on project manager overseeing and leading literally all types of work for CrossRoad. Trent grew up in Walton, IN and attended Tri-State (Trine) University. He is a 1992 honors graduate with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a licensed PE and PS in the state of Indiana.

GW joined CrossRoad Engineers in 1997 as our first intern and then came aboard full time in 2000 after graduating from Rose Hulman. GW became a Principal with the firm in 2013 and has directed all surveying functions. He has worked on projects throughout the State of Indiana for both our public and private clients. He loves to apply his talents to new challenges no matter the size of the project. GW grew up in Vincennes and now lives in Brownsburg with his wife and four children who always find a use for any spare time he might have.
Curtis Holcom, PE

Curtis grew up in Converse, IN, and graduated from Trine University with a
B.S. in Civil Engineering. Curtis’s previous experience provided him opportunities to manage construction projects across the northern and western parts of the United States, which offered a variety of unique challenges that he was able to gain much knowledge from. He enjoys utilizing his skills to manage a large variety of construction projects and working with others to solve the daily challenges they present. Curtis is passionate about
building and strengthening relationships with coworkers, clients, and interacting
with the communities he works in. He is a licensed PE in the state of Indiana and utilizes his talents to ensure our clients are left with lasting products they will forever be proud of.

Greg moved to Indianapolis in 1995 and joined the CrossRoad family in 1997. Becoming a Principal in 2006, he leads the Site Development services area, working closely with clients to ensure their vision becomes a reality. Greg is a Hoosier, born and raised, growing up in The Region in Northwest Indiana. He then ventured to northeast Indiana and graduated from Tri-State (Trine) University with a B.S. in Engineering. Greg is a licensed PE in Indiana, and truly enjoys the engineering challenges and pace of the private investor aspects of civil design and construction.

Willie moved from Pleasant Lake, IN to join the CrossRoad family as an intern in 2004 and full time in 2005. Willie became a Principal with the firm in 2018 and he manages a wide variety of private site development and public transportation, trail and drainage projects. Willie enjoys solving the unique challenges that each project presents, and building relationships with clients and coworkers. A certified PE in Indiana, Willie graduated from Tri-State (Trine) University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Willie now lives in the Franklin Township area of Indianapolis with his wife and two children.
